Sports defender Bilbao Yeri Alvarez was banned for a period of 10 months by the European Football Association after being convicted of taking over a banned material related to hair loss.
Alvarez was temporarily approved in June after his positive test of Kenkrinon after ATHLETIC 3-0 was defeated at home to Manchester United in the semi-finals of the European League on May 1.
The 30 -year -old said “It took unintentionally preventing hair loss that contains a banned substance” as part of the treatment to prevent alopecia after diagnosing testicle cancer in 2016.
Alvarez cannot play until April
UEFA’s statement wrote this morning: “On May 1, 2025, the YEREVAREZ sports club player underwent doping in the competition by UEFA after the UEFA Europa League.
“The player’s sample analysis was revealed by a certified laboratory from WADA about the presence of the Canary, a banned substance in and outside the competition under the S5 Class. Diuretics and hidden factors in the banned list in WADA 2025.
On June 2, 2025, the player accepted a voluntary temporary comment with an effect from that date.
“In the aftermath of the opening of disciplinary measures against the player on June 10, 2025, two European Ethics Ethics and Inspectors of Disciplinary Inspectors conducted an investigation and the case was submitted to the UEFA disciplinary bodies to make the decision.
“At its meeting on August 19, 2025, the relevant disciplinary body decided to suspend the player for a period of ten (10) months, starting from the date of temporary suspension (i.e. June 2, 2025) and ends on April 2, 2026, to commit a violation of the fight against al -Qaeda.
According to Article 10.14.2 of UEFA Anti -Doping RegulationsThe player may return to training with a team or use club facilities in the last two months of his eligibility, that is, as of February 2, 2026. “
