At least seven people died after a bridge on the highway to the railway tracks in Russia near the Ukrainian border, according to emergency services.

The bridge in Brigansk fell many heavy trucks into a mobile passenger train where it collapsed late on Saturday night, with 31 people also injured.

The Russian Emergency Ministry said that the fire and rescue units were trying to find people traveling on the train.

In a statement published in Telegram, Moscow claimed a railway that the bridge had collapsed “as a result of illegal intervention in transportation operations.”

Hours after Sunday morning, a second bridge collapsed along the Trussna-Calankhka Highway in the Kursk region, according to Alexander Khintansin, the ruler of Corsc Oblast.

He said that the shipping train was traveling over the bridge at the time, adding that the part of the train fell on the road below.

Jencin said that the train caught fire, and a driver was wounded in his legs.

The photos on the Internet from the first accident in Bianank showed distorted vehicles and travelers helping each other to climb from the debris in the dark.

Local ruler Alexander Bogomaz said in a telegram that there were “seven deaths” and that two people – including a child – were seriously injured.

He added that all the injured passengers have been transferred to the medical facilities in the Bianank area.

The Moscow Transport Prosecutor’s Office said that the investigation had been launched.

The authorities said that the train locomotive and several cars were out of its path when the road bridge fell.

The additional emergency workers were sent, as well as rescue equipment and light towers to carry out the work at night to the area, according to the Russian News Agency Tass.

Officials said the train was moving from the town of Kilimovo to Moscow and was in the Vegonitsky region when the collapse occurred.

“They will be able to continue their journey on a specially formed a train,” said a railway in Moscow, adding.

The accident occurred about 100 km (62 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
