Apple says it turns the production of most iPhone devices and other devices that will be sold in the United States away from China, which was the focus of President Donald Trump’s tariff.

Tim Cook, CEO Tim Cook says that most of the iPhone devices associated with the United States market in the coming months, while Vietnam will be a major production center for elements such as iPads and Apple Watches.

This comes at a time when the technology giant estimated that American import taxes could add about 900 million dollars (677.5 million pounds) to its costs in the current quarter, despite Trump’s decision to spare the main electronics of the new definitions.

The Trump administration has repeatedly said it wanted Apple to transfer production to America.

This estimate comes at a time when companies are scrambling all over the world to respond to the huge shifts in world trade resulting from Washington’s trade policies.

Based on a call with investors on Thursday to discuss the financial performance of the company, Apple President seemed keen to draw attention to its investments in the United States.

Mr. Cook opened the discussion by reminding the company’s plans to invest 500 billion dollars across several American states during the next four years.

Made in India

He also said that Apple has transformed its supply chain for the United States -related products away from China, but India and Vietnam are about to be benefiting from this step.

“We expect the majority of the iPhone devices sold in the United States in India as their country of origin,” said Mr. Cook.

Meanwhile, Vietnam will be the main manufacturing center “for all iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and AirPods in the United States.”

He added that China will remain the country of origin for the vast majority of the total products that are sold outside the United States.

However, the transfer of production lines to India will take time and investment, as it costs billions of dollars.

“There will remain a tariff that affects the supplies (in favor of Apple), the cost of transporting them and building new factories,” Shanti Kili, the chief investment official of M & G Wealth, told the BBC today.

“Apple said they want to invest $ 500 billion in the next few years,” Apple said.

Apple shares have declined after Trump announced his management of a “mutual tariff” on imported products to the United States, with the aim of persuading companies to manufacture more in the United States.

But his administration faced great pressure to reduce its plans. Soon after the definitions enter into force, it announced that some electronics, including phones and computers, will be exempted.

Uncertainty prevails

Currently, Trade Trumoil left Apple sales.

The company said that the revenues of the first three months of the year increased by 5 % of the same period last year, to 95.4 billion dollars.

As for Amazon, another giant of technology whose results were closely monitored to obtain signs of the damage of customs tariffs, saying that sales were steadfast, as they increased by 8 % on an annual basis in e -commerce work in North America in the last quarter.

He expected similar growth in the coming months.

“It is clear that none of us knows exactly where the definitions will settle or when,” said Andy Jacy, President of Amazon.

“We are often able to weather in difficult circumstances better than others,” he said. “I am optimistic that this can happen again.”

New status

The transformation of the iPhone supply chain to India was “impressive”, according to Patrick Marisid, CEO of Moor Insights & Strategy.

“This is a noticeable change of what Cook said a few years ago when he said that China alone could build iPhone devices,” said Mr. Moraid.

“There is a lot of progress that Apple should show here, but it is a good start,” he said.

Amazon also re -placing itself to increase flexibility in the face of definitions.

The company said that it is working to ensure that there is a variety of sellers. Mr. Jassi said that he felt that the company was in a good position for the coming months, pointing to the company and its role in providing daily necessities.

Currently, she said sales were not hurt due to customs tariff disorder. If there is anything, executive officials said that the work may have benefited from some of the clients who started storage.

The total sales jumped by 9 % to 155.7 billion dollars in the first three months of 2025, compared to the same period last year, while profits increased by more than 60 % on an annual basis to about $ 17 billion.
