An American citizen accused of trying to attack the American embassy branch in Tel Aviv Israeli conflict news

Officials say Joseph New Yamer, who is also a German citizen, approached the building on May 19 with Molotov cocktails.

Federal prosecutors in New York said that the dual United States and the German citizen had been arrested on charges of traveling to Israel and tried to shoot at the US embassy’s sub -office in Tel Aviv.

Israeli officials deported Joseph New Yamer to New York on Saturday, and had a preliminary appearance on the court in front of a federal judge in Brooklyn on Sunday. His criminal complaint was canceled on Sunday.

Prosecutors say Neumeyer went to the embassy building on May 19 with a backpack containing Molotov cocktails, but faced a confrontation with a guard and finally escaped, and dropped his bag when the goalkeeper tried to detention.
