The United States imposed sanctions on Palestinian Authority Officials and members of the Liberation Organization of Palestine on Thursday, saying that the groups are undermining peace efforts, as US officials are seeking separately to save the ceasefire talks in Gaza.
The US State Department said this step prevents those who target visas to travel to the United States, although it has not recounted any specific individuals.
“It is the National Security Department to impose the consequences and accountability of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority about not complying with their obligations and undermining peace prospects,” the ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the two Palestinian groups “took measures to internationalize its conflict with Israel”, including through the International Criminal Court, and both said “to support terrorism.”
It was not possible to reach representatives of the Palestinian Authority and the Palestine Liberation Organization to comment.
