Alika Schmidt is currently enjoying her season with her friends. The German middle-distance runner recently took a trip to Spain in the midst of her off-season. Schmidt also shared glimpses of her trip via her Instagram profile.

Alika Schmidt also uploaded snaps of herself enjoying time in the pool in a white bikini, while she posed for the camera with her travel companion in some photos. Schmidt candidly asked her followers a question while commenting on her Instagram post,

Alika Schmidt shared her thoughts on missing the World Championships this year. The German middle-distance runner was unable to qualify for the current edition, which was held at the National Stadium in Tokyo the previous month.

“This season has really put me on the test this year. Tough races, a lot of lessons, a lot of growth. This wasn’t the season I was hoping for, but it was definitely what I needed. Unfortunately, I got COVID a few days before the National Championships, so I wasn’t able to be at my best, which is definitely frustrating.”

Alika Schmidt recently moved up to the women’s 800m this year after representing Germany in the women’s 400m and women’s 4x400m relay over the past few years. Schmidt represented Germany in the relay competitions at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she participated in the women’s 4 x 400 meter relay and the 4 x 400 meter mixed relay, respectively.
