Airbnb launched a new feature called “now reserves, and later pay” that allows users in the United States to book a property without payment in advance, which may allow people to cancel their reservations with the least problem if their plans change.

The feature is applicable to the properties that have a “flexible” or “moderate” cancellation policy. Flexible policies allow users to cancel their reservation up to 24 hours before checkout, while moderate policies allow the abolition of not fees up to five days before checkout.

Users will need to pay the full amount to reserve them before the free cancellation period in the list ends. Airbnb will send users a reminder of the payment before that date.

The company is not new to buying now, and pushing the square later. In 2018, I launched “Payment Part Now, after part of it” project This allowed users to pay 20 % or 50 % in the first chip and the rest is later. In 2023, the company cooperated with Clarna to allow Users are paid for residences in four installments for six weeks.

Quoting a poll with Focaldata, Airbnb said that 55 % of those surveyed prefer a flexible payment option during residence reservations, as they said 42 % that they missed real estate while trying to know logistical services with other travelers.
