After a night of terrorism in Kyiv, the search for dead continues

Evhen Povarenkov was standing on a police line separating the public from the intensive search and rescue process around its buildings.

He stared at the remainder of his apartment, in a suburb of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. His windows had disappeared, and his balcony was about to collapse.

A marine missile in this regular residential bloc in the Solansky neighborhood in the early hours of Tuesday has been probably critical, traveling at a speed of 500 miles per hour. The explosion destroyed 35 apartments and a whole section of the building.

By Wednesday noon, 23 dead people were found in the rubble. Throughout Ukraine, it was known that at least 30 were killed in attacks, each with the exception of two in Kiev.

The Air Force in Ukraine said that the air strike on the Bouvarinkov building was just a huge wave sent by Russia – a total of more than 440 drones and 32 missiles.

Al -Wabeh broke the capital for nine hours, from midnight until dawn. It was among the worst attacks on Kyiv since the full invasion of Ukraine began.

Bouvarnikov, a 43 -year -old warehouse worker, looked at his broken apartment. His face was cut and grazed everywhere and one of his eyes was very blood. He could not see him.

He said he was in bed when he hit the missile. His elderly mother was asleep in the next room.

“There was heat, fire and smoke,” he said, recalling the tremendous effect a few meters away from its wall. “I lost consciousness. When I came, I heard my mother screaming.”

The neighbors helped Boofarkov hit his distorted door and get his mother’s apartment. Other survivors appeared in the residues of the broken building.

“People were screaming, and the children were crying, it was complete chaos.”

Abroad, residents tried to find a safe road by burning cars and falling debris.

God, 69, a teacher, said: “Everything was burning.” “The fuel tanks in cars were exploding. The broken glass was flowing from the top, along with pieces of concrete and tiles.”

He said that the mother of Bouvarinkov rushed to intensive care, with two broken bones, overlooking both her eyes and severe damage to her internal organs that require surgery.

She was one of more than 100 wounded in the city. About midnight, Serhi Dubrov’s hair, anesthesiologist and director of the twelfth clinical hospital, that strikes begin.

He said that within hours, the hospital alone will receive 27 patients.

“They were wounded in the soft tissue, threats of broken glass, and damage to blood vessels. There were brain injuries and inner chest injuries. One of them had a lump -cutting arterice – we were able to repair it. The worst woman was a woman’s open head injury.

“These are the types of injuries that we see from these types of attacks.”

He said that patients at Dr. Dubrov Hospital ranged from 18 to 95. Three were in the nineties. Such strikes, in residential buildings, can be particularly dangerous for the elderly and disability, who cannot easily rush into an underground shelter.

Oilxander Bundrachuk, a 64 -year -old disabled man whose apartment was also close to the point of influence, was unable to reach the shelter. He said he was lying in the bed terrified all the time.

An hour after the attack, Bondarchuk managed to slowly cut its way to the basement. “It was terrible,” he said. “Everything has been destroyed.”

Some of those whose apartments were severely damaged were able to find shelter with friends or relatives. Others were not very lucky. “This is all I have,” Bonard said.

The strikes struck Ukraine when the President, Volodimir Zelinski, was traveling to the Group 7 conference in Canada to meet world leaders. Some in Ukraine doubt that the timing was intended – a brutal message from Russia.

The size of the attack stressed the desperate need for Ukraine to obtain international support, including the increasing air defenses. But in the end, it will be an unsuccessful day for Zelinski.

His expected bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump evaporates with strikes, when Trump announced that he would leave the conference early in the midst of the crisis in the Middle East.

With the lack of Trump, the meeting of European leaders in Ukraine failed to provide a joint statement to support the country-a statement that has been diligently on the Ukrainian side.

When Zelinski traveled to the house from Canada on Wednesday, people gathered from all over the Solansky neighborhood in southwest Kiev to put flowers at the Museum missile attack site.

Police did not allow Vervin Bouvarnikov to pass the strip line to restore his mother’s property from their broken apartment, so he stopped and stare. A hundred feet, emergency workers just found two other bodies in the rubble.

They said they did not know their number.
