The $102,900 Premium-spec will be the first to arrive with a full suite of technology and options – from a dual rear-seat entertainment system, 21-inch wheels and a Selected exterior and interior colors of grey, black and white. The $89,900 Origin models drop the rear-seat screens, shrink to 19-inch wheels, and you can get them in any color you want, as long as it’s black. Deliveries for the least expensive specification start in 2027.
Either way, Sony offers a 91 kWh battery with up to 300 miles of rated range. NACS charging is standard at up to 150kW and each example will be offered with the Afeela Intelligent Drive and Afeela Personal Assistant kit. Of course, Sony’s massive column-to-column dashboard display is also standard, and is supported by Unreal Engine Graphics for maps, driver assistance systems and the main user interface.
Sony tells us the Afeela EV will have 40 sensors for driver assistance systems and feature what it calls “one-touch, all-in-one” autonomous driving. Simply get in, tell the car where you want to go, and it will get you there while consuming content on the big screen. At least that’s the view, the automaker’s pre-order site currently specifies only the second level of autonomy.
