The Für Deutschland (AFD) was appointed as a right -wing extremist by the country’s federal office to protect the constitution.
The local intelligence agency said in a statement, “The concept based on race and the origin based on assets that prevail within the party is not compatible with the free democratic system,” the local intelligence agency said in a statement.
AFD ranked second in the federal elections in February, and won 152 seats in a 630 -seat parliament of 20.8 % of votes.
Parliament, or Bundestag, will hold a vote next week to confirm conservative leader Friedrich Mirz as a consultant, heading to an alliance with socialist Democrats in the center.
The right -wing AFD has already been placed under a note of the suspected extremism in Germany, and the intelligence agency may also classify it as a right -wing extreme in three states in the east, where its popularity is higher.
The agency, or Verfassungschutz, said, specifically that AFD did not consider the citizens of the “immigration background from Muslim countries mostly” as equal members in the German people.
The outgoing Minister of Interior, Nancy Weisser, said that the agency made a clear and unambiguous decision with a “political impact” after a comprehensive review and a report of 1100 pages.
The Local Intelligence Agency in Germany is responsible for combating cracking and investigating terrorist threats.
Although its change in the appointment of AFD is likely to face a challenge in the courts, it is likely that it will reduce the threshold of the agency that uses informants and monitoring in the party’s monitoring.
Local intelligence cannot push for a ban on the party, but its last decision can encourage others to start the operation.
Serpil Midyatli, deputy leader of Democrat SPD, said that in black and white what everyone has already known. “It is clear to me that the ban must come,” she said, according to the German Press Agency.
Regardless of the success of AFD in the elections, she said that the founding fathers of the German constitution after the war have sought to ensure that the country was not closed to the abyss.
