LG InnotekAffiliated with components and materials in South Korea LG collectionI hit the manufacturing partnership with AEVA technologyWhich makes 4D Lidar sensors.
The LG Innotek partnership will witness AEVA manufacturing and supply Ultra Atlas 4D Lidar Motor sensor, and finally expand technology for use in consumer electronics, robots and industrial automation. As part of the deal, LG Innotek will invest up to $ 50 million in AEVA, where you get a share share of about 6 % in the American company.
“The first part of the partnership focuses on the auto sector.” “LG Innotek will be our partner in manufacturing for some of the 10 best international passengers.”
Founded in 2017, AEVA says it has poured nearly half a billion dollars to develop what you call “4D Lidar on a chip”. Unlike the traditional Lidar systems that depend on the flight time measurements to estimate the distance, the amended AEVA frequency on adjusting the continuous perception technology in the wave measures the distance and speed of each pixel in actual time.
“It is like moving from the camera in black and white. We get this speed information as a new dimension,” explained.
AEVA says it has fully combined Lidar, including optics, in a silicon optical unit. Salehi said that this mini design and the rights of chips enables more efficient production and complementarity, especially to expand the markets such as cars, robots and consumer electronics.
The company plans to put the capital from the deal to develop products and increase its team. “Over the past eight years, we have made very small (devices), and we stick to this path. We will timing to a homogeneous chip,” Saleh said.
