A new foreign minister says that Israel uses lack of food as a “political tool” in Gaza

Foreign Minister Anand Anand, who recently called Israel, accused Israel on Wednesday of using lack of food as a political tool in the Gaza process and urged more work to stop the shooting with Hamas, the armed group that controls the Palestinian pocket.

Israel has closed the Gaza Strip since early March and resumed its military campaign against Hamas after the collapse of the ceasefire deal, during which thousands of trucks entered.

Gaza residents face hunger and famine, which warns

The World Health Organization warns that the risk of famine and collective hunger in Gaza. Palestinian health officials say that dozens of children have died due to malnutrition since March, the month of Israel has prevented all aid shipments.

Anand told reporters before the cabinet meeting: “We cannot allow the continued use of food as a political tool … More than 50,000 people have died as a result of the aggression caused by the Palestinians and the people of Ghazan in Palestine. The use of food as a political tool is simply unacceptable,” Anand told reporters before the cabinet meeting.

“We need to continue working to stop the shooting. We need to make sure that we have a solution from the two countries, and Canada will continue to maintain this position.”

Israel has killed more than 52,900 Palestinians, according to local health officials. Gaza left the brink of famine, relief groups and international agencies.

Israel denies that there is a risk of starvation and accuses Hamas of causing hunger by stealing aid for civilians.

Prime Minister Mark Carney Anand appointed to her new position on Tuesday. She replaced Mélanie Joly, who was in the job for more than three years.

Israel invaded Gaza in response to the Hamas -led attack on the southern Israeli societies on October 7, 2023, where about 1,200 people and 251 hostages were killed in Gaza, according to the Israeli.
