The International Olympic Committee took a major step towards keeping boxing in the program for Los Angeles games in 2028, where it admitted a new board of directors for this sport.
The International Olympic Committee has granted a temporary recognition on Wednesday in global boxing, a group founded in 2023 as a separatist from the International Boxing Association, which has long been hindered, and obtained many former IBA members.
The International Olympic Committee for World Boxing said that 62 percent of the Paris Olympics was affiliated with its members. IOC’s boxing of IOC has shown “a strong preparation and effort to enhance governance and implementation, to be compatible with appropriate standards.”
“It is an important moment but a lot of work remained.
“Receiving temporary Olympic recognition from the International Olympic Committee is an important achievement and explains that our sport is on the right path. This decision makes us one step from our main goal – to maintain boxing in the Olympic Games,” Golovkin said in a statement.
IOC IBA was suspended in 2019 after long -term disputes over the ruling, its money, and the integrity of seizures and governance, and took the rare step in its exile of the Olympic movement in 2023, shortly after the separation from global boxing.
The International Olympic Committee organized the same boxing championships in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and Paris Games last year, but said it needed a new partner in time for 2028.
Since his comment, IBA and its Russian president, Omar Karimif, have continued to disagree with IOC, especially on the rules of reporting boxing for women in the Paris Olympics, focusing on the two shells in IMANE KHELIF and Lin Yu-to. IBA said this month that she plans to file criminal complaints against the International Olympic Committee in the United States, France and Switzerland.
