In Global Investors, they gathered in 2025 in Bangaluru, made a severe exchange between Jay Kotak, a co -chair of Kotak 811, and the founder of Zerod, Najil Kahat, a glimpse of the sophisticated scene of technology.

“I have already disrupted the brokerage work, please do not come after us,” Kotak commented, pushing the laughter from the audience.

However, Kamat’s response was more accumulated: “We will not get a license even if we want,” noting the organizational barriers facing technology companies in adventure in banking services.

Zerodha was founded in 2010 by the brothers Nithin and Nakhil Kamt, her Zerod re -brokers in India through its low -cost model that is driven by technology. The company offers a branding on stock investments and flat trading fees, attracting more than 1.6 crores of users who manage assets with a value of 6 rupees – all without spending on the advertisement.

Despite her success, Zerod struggled to expand banking services. In a previous interview, Kahat said: “We really want to be a bank. However, we have tried over the past many years, but we have not been allowed to do so.”

Zerodha’s financial performance reflects its domination of mediation. In the 24th fiscal year, the company reported a 89 % jump in a net profit to 5,496 rupees, with revenue increased by 37.16 % to 9,372 rupees. Kathath then admitted that the journey is far from the easy. “We are still David in the world of Galot,” he said, describing the company as “1000 people in a corner of Bangaluru trying to compete with those who have more access and influence.”

Meanwhile, Jay Kotak highlighted the gaps in the banking sector, and called for greater sympathy for customers and improving digital experiences.

“We are late years of light, as we need to be the place of our competitive existence at the present time,” he said. Kotak also indicated that India is late in attracting financial and human capital compared to global markets, especially the United States
