The International Criminal Court receives a wave of support after being hit with US sanctions.

Donald Trump’s executive orders are thick and fast. The latest penalties for the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Trump claims that the International Criminal Court offends its authority, takes “illegal and baseless” measures against the United States and the largest ally of Israel. It also claims that its investigators are a threat to national security.

How will this affect the only court with the ability to prosecute genocide and military crimes? Is the concept of the international system based on the rules under threat?
