The ADP salary processing company said on Wednesday that companies in the private sector added 183,000 jobs in January.
The number is higher than economists’ estimates for 150,000 jobs and also more than the previous month reading of 122,000.
“We started a strong start for 2025, but he was blocking a division in the labor market,” said ADP. “The industries facing the consumer pushed employment, while job growth was weaker in business and production services.”
