AMC wanted to remove one of the best Breaking Bad characters

In the world of TV, it is difficult to do better than “Breaking Bad”. Created by Vince Gilligan, the story of a high school teacher with cancer that becomes drugs, is widely considered one of the best TV programs that have ever conducted. As I gave birth to the saying One of the best cross operations in the form of “Best Saul Call”, “ He focuses on the bob -bob -Ladincrick lawyer Saul Godman. As much as it may be difficult to believe with the benefit of late perception, although there were nearly a world where Saul was not broadcasting.

Entertainment weekly I recently released the new Alaan Sepinwall book, “SAUL Goodman V. Jimmy McGill: The Complete Companion Complete to Wetter SAUL.” In it, he talks with “Breaking Bad” producer and “Better Call SAUL” Peter Gold. During their conversation, Gold discussed The first episode of Odekirk, entitled “Better Call SAUL”. Which came as part of “Breaking Bad” season two. Gold wrote the episode and expressed concern that Saul was very “ridiculous” for the show. With his own words:

“Did we think he would get a future? Well, I will tell you, personally, while I was writing the episode, I felt very tense. I felt fear, because I was worried that we would break the show by making a very ridiculous character – it would be too big to be a big offer .

What is more wasting the clay for Gold and Gilijan, when they received a call with AMC about the episode, an uncomfortable executive official suggested that they kill the scenario mainly because they did not like the character of Saul Godman. For each Gold:

“My fear has already been strengthened when we had the first appeal with an executive official who will remain without a name again and reach a different story for this episode?”

This is really amazing to look. It is just a reminder that this show was not always Titan from the TV it is now considered. Unforgettable: Was it not the case? Netflix savings today, “Breaking Bad” could have been canceled early. This offer was on the brink of shaving for a long time. This does not mean that the series could not have turned well without Odekirk, but given the size of the player who became large, it is difficult to film.

Fortunately, Giligan again pushed against AMC in this particular memo. Currently, this has saved some great works and headache. On a longer period of time, the network also gave more than it could have imagined. In Sepinwall, Gold explains how things were followed after that phone call:

Vince, “No.” was calling for a strong advocacy. I had to throw this episode.

The really amazing thing is that this is not the only time that Saul has been rescued while turning on. The conclusion of the “Breaking Bad” series kills almost from Saul Godman also. Fortunately, things changed and we only got 43 episodes of Odekirk in the original offer, but we also got six seasons of “Better Call Saul” from the deal as well. For Gold, this was a watershed moment in the most exhausting season that he carried during his period in both offers:

“Perhaps this was the most exhausting season in any of the show, for me, in any case. I lost a lot of sleep on him. There is already a scene in that episode between Hank and Walt, where Hank talks about his sins. This literally raises what was happening In my life at that moment.
