Apple got rid of the volume bar from the LOCK screen when it released iOS 16 in 2022. This meant that you had to use the volume buttons on the side of your iPhone if you wanted to turn up the volume of music or podcasts without unlocking your iPhone.

Pressing these buttons increases or decreases your volume by a specific amount, but this may leave you choosing between a very loud or very quiet volume. With iOS 18.2, you can move the volume bar back to your Lock screen so you can control the volume more precisely without unlocking your iPhone.

Here’s how to reintroduce the Volume Bar to the Lock screen with iOS 18.2.

How to get the sound bar on your iPhone

1. It opens Settings.
2. handle accessibility.
3. handle Audio and visual under hearing.
4. Tap the switch next to Always show volume control.
