Ninja Gaiden 4 will be released this fall

The Xbox Developer Direct program began today with announcements Ninja Gaiden 4. And away from the news Angerthe series has been quiet for the past 13 years, and there’s a mix of new and old in the latest entry.

The protagonist is a new character named Yakumo, a member of the Raven clan, who will make his way through the dystopian city of Tokyo. Longtime gaming fans will be happy to see Ryu Hayabusa return and he will play a central role.

The new game is being developed in cooperation between Team Ninja and the Japanese company specializing in action games (known as PlatinumGames). Bayonetta and Nier: Automata). The trailer for Ninja Gaiden 4 shows off all the flashy beatings you’d expect from a 3D action game, with aerial combat and plenty of big power moves. Yakumo will also have traversal skills such as riding on rails, jumping across gaps, and running on walls.

The game is scheduled to be released in fall 2025, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. It will also launch on Xbox Series

As an added bonus, Team Ninja has also dropped a surprise remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. This remake of the 2008 game is available today on Xbox and PC.
