Former India opener Virender Sehwag and his wife Aarti Ahlawat’s relationship has reportedly hit rock bottom. They are set to separate after 20 years of marriage.
Things don’t look too rosy between the two at the moment. The couple unfollowed each other on Instagram, indicating a major rift in the relationship. According to those close to the family, Virender Sehwag and Aarti have been living separately for several months. A report in Hindustan Times suggests that divorce is likely for the couple who tied the knot in 2004.

The former batsman and Aarti have two sons – Aryaveer, born in 2007, and Vedant, born in 2010. Rumors about their relationship being strained have been doing the rounds for some time. Last year, fans were quick to notice that Virender Sehwag shared Diwali pictures with his sons and mother on social media but deleted any mention or pictures of his wife.
Two weeks ago, Virender Sehwag visited the Vishwa Nagayakshi Temple in Palakkad. He updated fans about his visit by sharing photos on his Instagram account. Even in those pictures, there was no mention of Aarti.

Virender Sehwag and Aarti’s love story began in the early 2000s. Just like the former India opener, Aarti is also from New Delhi. She continued her education at Lady Irwin High School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. After completing her studies, Aarti obtained a diploma in Computer Science from Maitri College, Delhi University.
In 2004, Sehwag and Aarti got married in a grand wedding ceremony held at former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s residence in 2004. For the past 20 years, Sehwag and Aarti have managed to keep their family life private. However, their relationship has now become the talk of the town.
Talking about Sehwag’s cricket career, he is widely regarded as one of the best openers India has ever seen. Known for his aggressive batting, Sehwag has made a name for himself with his arrogant batting. He has been a key member of the Indian team across formats for over a decade.
Sehwag was a key member of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup. He played 104 Tests for India, scoring 8586 runs at an average of close to 50. He hit 23 centuries and 32 half-centuries. The first Indian to reach a triple century in Tests, Sehwag notched two triple centuries in the longest format of the game.

In ODIs he played 251 matches and scored 8273 runs with 15 tons and 38 fifties. He has also played 19 T20Is and scored nearly 400 runs. Sehwag brought the curtain down on his illustrious football career in 2015. In the Indian Premier League, he played for Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.
