Hundreds of same-sex couples in Thailand are expected to make their marriage legal status on Thursday, the day the law comes into force and gives them the same rights as heterosexual couples. The enactment of the marriage equality law makes Thailand the first country in Southeast Asia and the third in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, after Taiwan and Nepal.
