Shawn Levy recently found commercial success with 2024’s “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and it looks like he’s looking to replicate the magic in a galaxy far, far away. Doing so won’t be easy, as there hasn’t been a “Star Wars” movie in theaters since 2019, when “The Rise of Skywalker” concluded the 9-episode Skywalker Saga, starting in 1977 with “A New.” “Hopefully.”

Like many movies and TV shows, Shawn Levy was forced to halt work on his “Star Wars” project due to the WGA writer’s strike. In September 2023, Levy revealed that he was forced to take a hiatus from the Lucasfilm project while promoting his Netflix limited series “All The Light We Cannot See”.
