Halsey gives a candid health update two years after diagnosis

The “Colors” singer first spoke about her health struggles in June 2024, revealing that she was “lucky to be alive” after a secret battle.

Two years after her diagnosis, Halsey, who uses he/they pronouns, shared a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, January 18, reflecting on the progress she’s made and expressing her gratitude for the support she’s received along the way.

She accompanied the post with a series of photos, including a photo of the 30-year-old holding an iPhone and showing a selfie from two years ago. On the other hand, recent photos show Halsey smiling and laughing as she thinks about how far she has come.

“Oh. I just want to say; I looked and felt this way two years ago, and every step forward I’ve taken since then has been a miracle. “I’m figuring it out in my own time, thanks to everyone who’s been on this journey with me. Also, I’m cute as f-ck now, so that’s cool.

Halsey also expressed her appreciation for the overwhelming support from fans.

“Thank you guys for the incredible amount of love for The End and the support you’ve shown me since its release,” she wrote. “I realize that everyone is following the news that I have been holding onto for too long, and I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share.”

As fans continue to follow Halsey’s journey, they also continue to show their love and support for the singer, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipani, in the comments section.

“Ashley, I feel like I speak for the entire fanbase when I say thank you so much for being an inspiration to us. Hours after the song’s release, Halsey revealed on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with SLE, a rare T-cell proliferative disorder, two years ago. Both conditions are now managed or in remission, although Halsey admits they present lifelong challenges.

“After a difficult start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of the wonderful doctors,” she said. “After two years, I feel better and am more grateful than ever to have music to turn to.”
