Lizzo shares theories and says ‘I’m not afraid’ amid TikTok ban

On Friday, the Supreme Court upheld a federal law that effectively banned the social media app in America.

The law went into effect on Sunday, meaning millions of Americans who used TikTok no longer have access to it.

TikTok has been one of the social media apps known for its trends and funny videos. Hence, rapper Lizzo couldn’t help but point out the app’s recent trend in response to its ban in the US.

The “Truth Hurts” singer took to her Instagram page to share a post mourning the death of the app.

The rapper added: “A spacecraft exploded over the Gulf of Mexico. TikTok ends?! The moon is full all week.”

In another post before the TikTok ban went into effect, Lizzo criticized the US government, though she expressed optimism that the social media app “will be saved.”

The “Tempo” rapper also shared a video from TikTok user Atheisticdeist that showed a man questioning why the US Congress chose to ban TikTok instead of fixing the plethora of issues affecting citizens.

Heidi Montag chose to be funny in her latest post on the app. She shared a video that showed her screaming: “They say there’s only five more minutes left on TikTok! Oh, no, what are we going to do? No, no, no.”

Montag added: “Please Jesus, we need this. Help our family, please God.”

Social media influencer Kelsey Bommel shared an emotional video titled “Goodbye Freedom of Speech.” In the clip, she criticized the federal government for focusing on the wrong things.

“I still can’t get over the fact that the government literally cares more about an app that has not been proven to pose any of the threats that our country claims it poses to kids literally being killed in school, the health care epidemic, the unaffordability of housing, the population “Homeless people.”

Meanwhile, Madeleine Cameron, who has a large following on the app, called for calm and expressed hope that outgoing President Joe Biden or President-elect Donald Trump would intervene.
