Modify the sound Today it announced that it will launch a new device: the Key, a dongle that allows gamers to use the company’s voice-changing technology. It works with both PlayStation and Xbox console-based voice chats, as well as Discord on the console. It’s currently available for purchase with a Voicemod Pro subscription – users who already have a subscription get a discounted price.

The switch works by connecting to a smartphone or tablet via a USB-C or Lightning port, allowing users to control the voice changer and soundboard via a mobile device. They then connect their controller and headphones to the dongle itself. Creators and streamers, as well as casual players, can edit their voices, either for entertainment or privacy purposes.

According to Voicemod, its Key is the first device of its kind that allows console players access to the same voice-changing technology that PC players have enjoyed for some time. Key has a library of AI-generated voiceprints for users to choose from, as well as over 300,000 sounds. Users can easily switch between sounds at will.

“In-game voice chats have become essential for building real connections in the digital world,” Jamie Bush, CEO of Voicemod, said in a statement. Gamers value the convenience of console platforms, and we’re excited to bring real-time voice conversion technology to all their favorite consoles. Voicemod Key makes online interactions more engaging, memorable and fun, no matter where they happen.
