Meet the next generation of mutants in Marvel’s Extraordinary X-Men #6 (Exclusive Preview)

Kitty Pryde has played many different roles among the X-Men; She never settled on a single codename, going from Sprite to Ariel to Shadowcat to Red Queen. during The X-Men’s time on the mutant island of KrakoaShe becomes a pirate captain, sailing the high seas to rescue mutant refugees for the Hellfire Trading Company.

Now in the new “X-Men Extraordinary” film from Dr. Eve Ewing and artist Carmen Carneiro, Kitty returns to her (and Ewing’s) hometown of Chicago. When the comic began, Kitty had decided to put saving the world behind her and was working as a waiter. But she finds the young mutants in need of guidance, and she teams up with her old enemy-turned-friend Emma Frost to tutor them.

Marvel shared an exclusive first preview of the unwritten pages for “Exceptional X-Men” #6 with /FilmContinuing the story of Kitty and her new students.

Most “X-Men” writers try to make their mark by introducing new “student” characters, who can follow the coming-of-age story that Kitty went through in the classic Chris Claremont years. Grant Morrison introduced Quentin Quire and the Stepford Cuckoos during “New X-Men”. Joss Whedon and John Cassaday gave us “Astonishing X-Men.” shield. Until it’s over Sister’s title is “Uncanny X-Men” for nowGail Simone and David Marquez introduce four young mutants called the Outliers. So, how do Kitty and Emma’s students compare?

The cast of teenagers in Ewing and Carnero’s “Exceptional X-Men” are as follows:

• Bronze/Trista Marshall, who can turn her skin into bronze

• Exo/Alex Luna, who can affect emotions and change his skin color to complement them

• Melee/Thao Tran, who can pass through solid matter like Kitty and also He became invisible.

The three have been dealing with the prejudice that still exists against mutants, so Kitty and Emma give them some X-Men-style self-defense courses. Until now, the teacher and students would meet in a dance studio to practice; It’s not exactly a danger room, but it’s adequate. “Exceptional X-Men” concluded the first volume of stories titled “Duty Calls”, Back in December with issue #5. It looks like the next arc, or at least its first issues, will put the spotlight on Axo. The summary of issue six stated the following:

“Who is Sheldon Xenos? AXO, an extraordinary empath of the Or two…or four…or…”

The following preview pages show the three young mutants meeting with Master Xenos, who is clearly a mutant with ram’s horns growing from his forehead.

“Extraordinary” was one of three titles released for the X-Men’s “From The Ashes” banner; They each follow different teams in different parts of the country. Jed McKay and Ryan Stegeman’s “X-Men” is set in remote Alaska, while Simone and Marquez’s “Uncanny X-Men” is set in the Louisiana Bay.
