The Providence Journal initially reported that Swift is investing $1.7 million in extensive renovations to the $17 million Watch Hill estate. The move was confirmed thanks to building permits and zoning records.

Renovation plans include a 400 sq ft extension to create a luxurious new bedroom suite and cozy lounge space within the sprawling 11,000 sq ft coastal property.

Swift is also remodeling the kitchen and adding an additional bedroom to the main house.

Permits for the project were submitted confidentially in late November and early December 2024, and construction was approved to continue until the end of 2025.

An insider shared with the news outlet that the “Cardigan” singer envisions the property as her “home base and where she and Kelsey hope to raise a family one day.”

Swift’s sprawling Rhode Island estate, which spans more than five acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, has long been her favorite getaway.

The property features a spacious patio, pool house and 700 feet of private beach, providing the perfect coastal getaway.

The multiple Grammy winner was last seen at her Watch Hill mansion in August 2024, relaxing with boyfriend Kelsey and close friends after wrapping up the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour.

Although she missed her famous Fourth of July celebration this year due to tour commitments, she later hosted an intimate gathering in August to make up for it.

Kelce isn’t the only notable guest enjoying the Swift Coastal Reserve. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, recently joined the couple for a beachside vacation.

The mansion holds deep personal significance for the mega-pop star, serving as the inspiration for her 2020 song “The Last Great American Dynasty.”

The song tells the story of Rebecca Harkness, the former owner of the property. Harkness, a wealthy socialite and composer known for her headline-grabbing lifestyle, died in 1982 at the age of 67. She was often surrounded by controversy, to which Swift felt a personal connection.

In a 2020 interview with Rolling StoneSwift reflected on that connection, saying, “Her name was Rebecca Harkness. And she lived in the house that I ended up buying in Rhode Island. That’s how I knew about her. But she was a woman who was talked about a lot and everything she did was scandalous, and I found a connection to that.”
