Hindenburg Research, the US-based short-selling firm that targeted several business entities including the Adani Group, will be dissolved. In a recent update on the Hindenburg website, founder Nate Anderson confirmed that Hindenburg Research will be dissolving.
Nathan Anderson announced that closing the company was a strategic decision made following the successful completion of their investigative projects. In a personal statement, Anderson detailed Hindenburg Research’s accomplishments and the rationale behind ending its operations. He revealed that the closure operation had been in preparation for several months, and that the team had completed its latest investigations.
In a personal statement, Anderson revealed that the British DJ’s performance on Bali had a major impact on him during a crucial time. He encouraged his followers to listen to Lee Burridge’s music and shared a video of the DJ performing at Cercle’s Omnia Bali in Indonesia. Anderson linked a video of the DJ playing music “at Omnia Bali in Indonesia for Cercle”.
“If you’re chasing something you think you want or need, or you’re doubting whether you’re enough, take a minute and listen to this. It had a huge impact on me at a pivotal time,” he wrote. An appendix to the long farewell note is on Hindenburg Research’s website with a link to Burridge’s YouTube video.
The hour-long DJ set included a verse of “Brightness” by Rowee & Lazarusman. The lyrics say: “Introduce yourself! Know who you are! defines!”
Here’s the video shared by the founder of Hindenburg Research in a PS note:
Who is Lee Burridge?
Born in November 1968, Lee Burridge is a prominent British DJ and producer who had a major influence on the Hong Kong club scene during the 1990s, according to information from Wikipedia. He played a vital role in establishing the famous Neptune Nightclub. Burridge went on to join England’s venerable Tyrant Soundsystem, alongside DJs Craig Richards and Sasha, and was a regular performer at the popular Burning Man event. In 2011, he founded the All Day I Dream label, which eventually evolved into a successful touring festival. His latest project includes launching his spin-off record label All Day I Dream in Waves in 2021.
The influence of Hindenburg’s research
Anderson founded Hindenburg with only a small capital and no traditional financial experience, citing the venture as both fulfilling and challenging. Anderson, 40, gained international attention in January 2023 by releasing a report that accused Adani of masterminding what was described as the largest fraud in the company’s history. This report caused a huge decline of $150 billion in Adani Group’s share prices. At the time, Adani was ranked as the fourth richest individual in the world according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Adani shares rebounded after some time. Subsequently, the Supreme Court cleared Adani Group of any wrongdoing, stating that unverified reports from organizations such as OCCRP could not be considered valid evidence.
Following this event, Hindenburg Research also released reports on Block Inc., owned by Dorsey, and Icahn Enterprises, owned by Icahn.
