World of Tanks Blitz is getting a Reforged update with Unreal Engine 5 visuals

World of Tanks Blitz, the free-to-play cross-platform tank game, is about to enter a new chapter with the upcoming Reforged Update, Wargaming said.

Wargaming said the update to its live game-as-a-service title is the most significant in the game’s history. It’s a big deal, as Wargaming said last year that after 10 years, World of Tanks Blitz has surpassed 180 million players to date and $1 billion in revenue.

For over a decade, World of Tanks Blitz has set the standard for fun and engaging tank warfare, uniting over 180 million players worldwide, over 500 historical and fantasy tanks, 11 game modes, and over 30 maps.

The Reforged update brings to the game Unreal Engine 5 visuals, improved physics, redesigned progression and commander systems, and more.

Update It will display:

• Upgrade to Unreal Engine 5: The tools available in Unreal Engine 5 will speed up the development process, improve gameplay and enable a visual blend of realism and fantasy.

• Revamped physics and graphics: Stunning visuals provide detailed and lifelike tanks, dynamic lighting, cool particle effects, and more realistic tank movements.
• New leaders: The redesigned Commander system introduces a variety of new Crew Leaders with unique backgrounds and abilities.
• New “Tank Groups” system: A simplified progression system organizes vehicles into themed collections, making expanding the collection easier and more fun.
• Renewed maps: Beloved battlegrounds are reborn with advanced visuals, weather effects, and improved map layouts for greater immersion and more strategy.

All player progress and previously acquired assets will remain unaffected, ensuring a smooth transition into this exciting new chapter of World of Tanks Blitz.

The first Ultra test, which will allow participants to try out the update before its widespread launch, is scheduled to begin on January 24, with additional tests planned for a later date.
