Mark Chapman, Kelly Cates and Gabby Logan have been confirmed as the next hosts of BBC’s Match Of The Day.
The trio will replace long-serving presenter Gary Lineker, who has led the main program since 1999, while Alan Shearer and Micah Richards will continue in their roles as regular pundits.
“I know viewers will love these three fantastic broadcasters and journalists who will be at the heart of our football coverage next season,” Alex Kay Gilski, BBC director of sport, said in a statement. “They are good at what they do and MOTD viewers can be sure they will be well looked after as football’s big talking points are expertly dissected.
“Gary has done a fantastic job on Match of the Day over the past 25 years, he will be greatly missed and we can all still enjoy him on our screens across some of football’s greatest tournaments.
“Outside of Match of the Day, we have some great new shows, sounds and surprises for the 2025-2026 season across audio, video and digital, and we look forward to sharing them with you all later in the year.
“It’s a really exciting time for BBC Sport football coverage.”
Chapman, Cates and Logan will also split duties presenting Match of the Day Two on Sunday as well as midweek UEFA Champions League Show highlights.
Lineker’s exit is the second high-profile exit from Match of the Day following Ian Wright’s decision to leave the program at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season. the previous Arsenal The striker who won Premier League title in the 1997/98 season, leaving 27 years after making his debut as an analyst while still an active player.
