Son arrests suspect who shot his parents in North Carolina

A son intervened to stop the suspect who allegedly killed his parents. According to Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, David Leaver Linked to four crime scenes with three dead. The 55-year-old white man faces three open murder charges.

People reports That’s husband and wife Anthony Grebble and Paula Grebble80 and 76 respectively Enrique Reyes64 years old, died. Grebble’s son held Leifer at gunpoint until police arrived at the scene and arrested him on Friday, January 10. If not for the son’s actions, David Leaver could have killed more people, Sheriff Paul Dance said in an interview with the press. The investigation revealed that there were at least 50 weapons in Leaver’s home and a lot of ammunition in his truck.

Police describe shooting timeline for suspect

The suspect appeared to be on a rampage on Friday. David Leifer’s timeline is a bit fuzzy because surveillance footage shows him leaving his home at approximately 1:28 p.m. Around the same time, Enrique Reyes was returning home after making a purchase at a nearby Food Lion store. Reyes lives on the same street as David.

Less than 20 minutes after Leaver left his home, he allegedly fired shots while leaving the Speedway gas station. By 2:17 p.m., police received a phone call reporting that Leaver had killed the Gribbles and arrested him. Then, at 2:50 p.m., cops received a report of a shooting at an empty home. Later, At approximately 3:35 p.m., police sent an ambulance to Reyes’ home after a 911 caller discovered him lying in the driveway.per ABC 12 (WCTI).

Eventually, investigators linked Lever to all the crime scenes. However, it remains unclear whether he knows Reyes personally. As for the Gribbles family, the 55-year-old is said to have been their realtor when they bought a house in 2014. David will return to court on January 29.
