Apple’s next major iPhone upgrade will include a new model called the iPhone 17 Air, according to engadget. Bloomberg Mark Gurman.

This seems like an obvious way to expand the lineup, given Apple’s success with the Air moniker for its thinner MacBooks and iPads (I’m currently typing those words on my MacBook Air), and it could be more attractive than an iPhone Plus or mini.

Gorman wrote that the iPhone 17 Air will include Apple’s first internal modem, which will reportedly debut in the new iPhone SE in the spring. The phone is also supposed to be Apple’s thinnest smartphone yet, 2mm thinner than current iPhones. So it represents a step towards Foldable iPhone and iPad The company is said to be developing it for 2026 or later.

Gorman also operates other Apple products expected to launch in 2025, including… Smart home center. Not on the list: A new version of the company’s mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro.
