Hello friends! I hope you have a wonderful day. We’re back from an amazing trip to NYC – I’ll share a recap soon! – And back to the routine. I’ve been tackling the mountain of laundry, getting ready for the pilot’s birthday, P’s birthday celebrations, and more travel. I’m headed to Ft. Lauderdale and Los Angeles coming soon!
I wanted to share something I’ve been working on behind the scenes: helping fellow IHPs and health coaches launch their businesses. I’ve been in the internet business for over 15 years (how?!) and have learned a lot of things along the way of reaching multiple numbers online.
I loved sharing what I learned and helping others start successful online businesses. I’ve started a small paid mentorship group here – Read more about RX Revenue -But I’m also working on as many free resources as I can. One of my first clients did a 7-day challenge and 20 people signed up for it!
The first free resource is A The Health Coach Toolkit, which you can download for free here.
Free Health Coach Toolkit
If you are a new health coach or integrative health practitioner, You may feel a mixture of excitement and exhaustion. I’ve spent months (or years!) studying functional medicine, learning lab analysis, and helping clients change their lives…
But now you ask:
“So, how do I actually run my business?”
I get it. When I started coaching, I had no idea what templates I needed, how to set up a client setup, or how to keep my systems organized. I wanted to focus on helping people feel better, not chasing spreadsheets and exemptions.
That’s exactly why I created my free Health Coach Toolkit – to help you get past the messy trial-and-error phase and start your practice with clarity, confidence, and systems that actually work.
This free toolkit includes everything you need to start or streamline your training business – whether you’re almost done with IHP2 or have been training clients on the side for a while.
What’s inside your free health coach toolkit
This toolkit is designed to give you the exact resources I wish I had when I started my practice: all editable, customizable, and easy to create your own brand.
Here’s what you’ll find inside:
1. Customer acceptance form
Your first step in understanding your client’s health history, symptoms, and goals.
This editable template helps you bring together everything you need to create personalized recommendations — without losing essential details.
You can use this with a tool like Google Forms or Typeform so customers can easily fill them out online and you can keep everything organized in one place.
2. Waiver and liability form
This protects you and your business while setting expectations for your customers.
It includes sections on confidentiality, medical disclaimers, and clear boundaries around the scope of your practice. This is not legal advice. Simply provide a copy to your attorney and he or she will help you modify it to comply with your unique business and your state’s regulations. This is a starting point that you can customize as needed.
Tip: Keep a signed copy on file for each client (digital copies are fine!). It is one of the simplest ways to protect your business legally and professionally. I also recommend getting some type of insurance for health coaches. I use alternate credit.
3. Toxicity test
One of my favorite tools for Integrative health practitioners And health coaches.
This test helps your clients assess their toxic load so you can guide them toward natural and safe detox practices before jumping into advanced protocols.
How to use it:
Send before your first session to gauge where to start
Revisit after 4-6 weeks to track progress
Use it as a learning resource for group programs or challenges
4. Discover the call script
If discovery calls make you nervous, this script gives you a confident flow and conversation you can follow.
It helps you build trust, ask the right questions, and seamlessly transition into sharing your offer — without feeling spammy or salesy.
Pro tip: Record your first few calls (with permission!) to review your tone and frequency of calls. You will look more natural and confident with everyone.
5. Website and Social Presence Checklist
Not sure where to start online? This checklist covers everything you need to have a polished, professional presence, even if you’re designing your first website yourself.
It walks you through your must-have pages (Home, About, Services, Contact), branding basics (logo, fonts, colors), and the vital basics of social media.
Quick Win Tip: Create a simple landing page with your freebie signup before worrying about a full website. You just need one clear way for people to find you and join your email list.
6. Weekly content calendar
Because consistency builds trust and is one of the most important things you can do to share your unique offerings and style/method with others.
This calendar helps you plan your posts for the week, focusing on five key pillars:
Education and value
Inspiration and stories
backstage
correlation
promotion
Tips for new health coaches getting started
Even with the right tools, the early stages of training can seem very difficult. Here are some lessons I’ve learned that will help you find your rhythm faster.
1. Don’t overcomplicate your presentations
It’s tempting to create multiple programs, but clarity sells. Once you have a strong offering that converts, you can always expand later.
2. Build your email list early
Even if you don’t have a full-fledged website yet, start growing your listing with a simple lead magnet (like this toolkit!).
Email is the best way to stay in touch, build trust, and populate your clients’ websites organically.
3. Use systems that save you time
Don’t be afraid to use tools that make your life easier:
Kajabi or Best Practice for Customer Management
ConvertKit or Flodesk for email marketing
Canva for branding + marketing materials
This saves you hours of administrative work each week – and lets you focus on client results.
4. Prioritize customer experience
Your first few clients will be your best teachers.
Ask for feedback, improve your process, and always over-deliver.
A great onboarding experience, consistent communication, and simple logins can turn customers into long-term supporters.
5. Keep learning and keep it simple
You don’t have to know everything before you start.
Pick one area to master (like hormones, digestion, or detox) and get started with it.
The best coaches remain curious, open, and humble. They’re also real people, not robots 😉 Don’t be afraid to share behind the scenes and the unique things that make you you.
