‘It hurts now’ Battlefield 6 fans aren’t happy with weapon XP rate

Since the release of Battlefield 6, the FPS community has been excited to play the game. However, as the high of novelty slowly fades, Some players have found one significant problem with the title – the low XP rate for weapons. Although it may seem trivial to many, the low rate of weapon XP farming means that you will not be able to level up your desired weapons and unlock the high-level attachments available with them.

On that note, user @BattlefinityGG recently shared a post on X that states:

“Weapon XP rates are so slow. They want to keep progressing, but it’s just painful right now. You can play for 5 hours with the same weapon without even leveling it up by half. Imagine newbie players stuck with bad attachments for a week.”

The user believes that this is one of the most important factors that should be fixed as soon as possible. @BattlefinityGG also went on to say that the solution for XP farming is not heading to in-game XP farm portals. There should be an organic way to level up your gun simply by adjusting the core game modes within the title.

Another user, @AwenoKing, also agrees with @BattlefinityGG, and made the following observation:

@BattlefinityGG I play with friends on PS5 so leveling isn’t as slow as PC or Xbox. But yes it definitely needs a big buff. I’d like to try different LMGs and Snipers with different attachment settings.

Other players, such as @MANN0900_PSN, oppose @BattlefinityGG’s ideology and have stated the following in response:

@BattlefinityGG Battlefields are not annual releases like CoD. The progress in CoD is so fast because they release 40 more weapons a year and then release another game 12 months after launch. BF is like 3-4 years between titles. Grinding should take time.

@MANN0900_PSN’s point is also supported by another user, @_GGNoRe_, who stated:

@BattlefinityGG It’s the first weekend, do you want to max out all weapons for the week? two? Things are fine. Service stars had a hundred kills each and many people had no problems with them and had *hundreds* of them on weapons

User @Samuel64097609 seems to have a balanced view on the matter, and in his opinion, the game should reward multiple attachments for each level of weapon obtained. This ensures a balance between both worlds, with progression being a bit slower than fast-paced titles like COD; However, it does not deprive the community of putting quality accessories on their favorite weapons.

The user stated the following in response to a parent tweet by @BattlefinityGG:

@BattlefinityGG They should have 2-3 unlockable attachments per level, that way it’s still harder to get each level, but you can build your gun faster, and mastering is still hard

Does Battlefield 6 need a faster weapon leveling system?

In our opinion, Battlefield 6 might need a slightly faster weapon progression system. While the current progression looks good for the casual player base, hardcore players are dissatisfied with not being able to customize their weapons to their hearts’ desire.

Perhaps the developers could improve the weapon XP collection rate slightly, ensuring that the needs of both the casual community and the in-game streaming/competitive community remain balanced.
