A player attracting interest from American League clubs

Tottenham saw club legend Son Heung-min leave for Major League Soccer over the summer, and one of his former teammates could also make the move during the January transfer window.

Tottenham spent big on the likes of Mohamed Kuddus, Xavi Simons and Matisse Tille in the summer, but have struggled to bring in cash through player sales. Son and Brian Gill were the only first-team stars to receive a transfer fee, but in January, Richarlison could be added to that list.

Richarlison open to MLS move amid Tottenham exit links

Tottenham are open to selling Richarlison when the transfer window reopens, according to Mick Brown (via Football from the inside) – who also reported that MLS clubs are interested in signing him for the 2026 season and beyond.

“I think it’s time for Richarlison to move on. He’s never been a player that the club is quite ready to put their trust in, they know what he can do at his best, but more often than not he won’t be at that level.

“With Solanke out through injury, he has had a good start to the season, but they don’t see him as a long-term solution to their problems leading the line. So if a good offer comes in for him in January, I expect Spurs will be willing to let him go.

“Given everyone’s fitness, I’m not sure he’ll have a regular place in Thomas Frank’s team. Based on that, he would be interested in a move to MLS as well, and I’m told there are already talks about whether that could be done. If Spurs get the right offer and feel they can cope without him, I’m sure that’s something that could happen when the window opens with all parties interested.”

Crystal Palace have also shown interest in Charlisonwho may prefer to stay in the English Premier League due to his presence in the Brazilian fold. For now, it remains to be seen whether any clubs will try to sign him in January.
