US President Donald Trump and other world leaders signed the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement during a summit in Egypt after the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
Trump stood in front of a banner reading “Peace 2025” as he individually greeted world leaders attending the event, including Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
The US President, Egyptian President Sisi, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Turkish President Erdogan signed the document that concluded the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
Trump said during a press conference: “We have achieved what everyone said was impossible… After a long wait, we have peace in the Middle East.”
