Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Sunday described opposition leader Maria Corina Machado as a “satanic witch,” two days after she won the Nobel Peace Prize for promoting democracy. The Nobel Committee praised Machado’s “tireless work” for human rights in Venezuela, which has long been at loggerheads with Washington since the Trump administration deployed warships nearby.
