WWE Hall of Famer RVD has quite a few stories up his sleeve, and he recently shared one where he got into a feud with a controversial name. The veteran also stated that the fight resulted in his injury.
The controversial name being talked about is Phil Baroni, who has been arrested over allegations of murdering his girlfriend. Phil and RVD were apparently very drunk sometime in 2016 at a hotel, and had an impromptu wrestling bout that resulted in RVD injuring his foot.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Bill Apter to Sports wrestlingThe WWE legend said:
“Me and Phil Baroni closed the bar and got beat up, and you know how there’s a pond in front of the hotel? There’s a pond, and there’s a bridge that goes over the pond to this little pillar. So we walked back over, and Phil and I started wrestling in the pond, completely hammered. Part of the punishment I had to see a video of it. My friend recorded it so he could show me how ridiculous it was, you know, embarrassing. It was. The other part of the punishment was I woke up with a broken foot. “It was my ankle and my foot.” (5:26 onwards)
The WWE Hall of Famer also apologized for his behavior
RVD has been quite open about his involvement with drinking in 2016, and believes he owes everyone an apology.
Speaking in the same exclusive interview with Sports wrestlingWWE Hall of Fame He said:
“2016 was a drinking year for RVD. I apologize to anyone who saw me that year, but not really. No, I apologize if I offended you or if I was, you know.”
As of now, fans will have to wait and see what RVD does next.
