Hollywood has plenty of screenwriters to turn to when it comes to its biggest films. Some writers seem to have a knack for envisioning the exact kind of exciting, fun entertainment that audiences love (and in which studios love to invest). Most successful films tend to employ teams of screenwriters, although only a few are credited. And while most famous writers share their work with many others, they always seem to be there when the money is being made.

Attentive moviegoers may immediately recognize names like Ehren Kruger, the screenwriter behind hit films like “The Ring,” the three “Transformers” sequels, “Top Gun: Maverick” and “F1.” per NumbersHis films have collectively grossed more than $6.2 billion at the global box office.

Meanwhile, animation fans may mention Andrew Stanton, who wrote several Pixar films, including the Toy Story films. His films have grossed approximately $5.66 billion theatrically. Or perhaps they’re referring to the screenwriting team of Jonathan Able and Glenn Berger, who wrote the “Kung Fu Panda” movies, the “SpongeBob SquarePants” movies, and the “Trolls” movies. However, among famous writers, No one may be more famous than David KoeppAnd the writer of “Death Becomes Her,” “Jurassic Park,” “Mission: Impossible,” “Spider-Man,” and heaps of others. His films have grossed $7.51 billion.

However, the duo of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely edge out Koepp in terms of their total earnings. The pair have had a hand in writing seven of the highest-grossing films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They also wrote the scripts for the three existing Chronicles of Narnia films released from 2005 to 2010, all of which were successful.
