Prince William He insists that his children have a “relatively normal home life”, despite their royal titles.
“I try to stick to school schedules as much as possible. So most days we’re in and out of school and picking up and dropping off,” William, 43, said during a recent appearance on the show. Eugene Levy‘s The frequent traveler series. “Getting the right balance between work and family life is really important, because for me, the most important thing in my life is family.”
William and his wife, Princess Kate MiddletonThey have been married since 2011. They have sons Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, 7, in addition to daughter Princess Charlotte, 10.
“It’s all about the future,” William explained in the Apple TV+ documentary series. “If you don’t start your kids’ lives now with a happy, healthy, stable home, I feel like you’re setting them up for some tough time and downfall. I think it’s really important to create that atmosphere in the home. It has to have that warmth, that feeling of safety, security, and love. All of that has to be there.”
According to William, he learned similar lessons from his mother, Princess DianaWho was killed in a car accident in August 1997, years after divorcing her husband King Charles III.
“You take that and learn from it and try to make sure you don’t (make) the same mistakes that your parents made,” William He said in the episode. “I think we’re all trying to do that and I just want to do what’s best for my kids, but I know that the drama and stress when you’re young really affects you when you’re older.”
Although William and Kate, 43, try to keep their children humble, they also realize that George will one day become King of England. (George is second in the line of succession behind William.)
“It’s an interesting question, and it’s a big question,” William told Levy, 78, when asked about his child. One day he became king. “There are a lot of things to think about about this. But obviously I want to create a world where my son can be proud of what we do, a world and a job that actually impacts people’s lives for the better.”
He continued: “I hope that we do not return to some of the practices of the past that I and (Prince) Harry had to grow up with, and I will do everything in my power to make sure that we do not retreat into this situation.”
William and his younger brother, including the Prince of Wales Currently expatriatedealt with an enormous amount of media attention from a young age.
“When it comes to family and things like that, that’s where I start to get a little tired, as I think most people would,” William explained on the show, where he made a rare comment about his tense sibling dynamic. “It’s more personal, more about feelings, more about shaking up the rhythm.”
As for Harry (41 years old), he and his wife, Meghan Markle, moved from England to settle in California in 2020.
