Terrence Crawford’s coach, Bernie Davis, went into meltdown over Jaron “Boots” Ennis’ win over Uisma Lima last Saturday night, dismissing the win by saying: “Who’s against? I’ve never heard of that guy.” He seemed really upset about that.

Is jealousy creeping into Crawford’s team?
It’s as if Bernie is jealous of how likable Ennis was, which was light years better than a typical Crawford performance. He’s never looked like this in his career. Ennis has taken some shine from Budd’s recent win with the Lima Annihilation.
The way Bernie worked, he seemed upset by the praise Ennis received from the boxing world after his first-round knockout of Lima (14-2, 10 KOs) in Philadelphia.
Crawford’s close win over Canelo Alvarez on September 13 was overshadowed by Ennis’s win over Lima. Ennis fired at Lima, taking him down twice before finishing him off with a storm of powerful shots. This performance left fans speechless. Nobody does it at the top level at 154, 160 or 168.
In contrast, Bud ran around the ring most of the night against Alvarez, trying not to get hit, and barely won a 12-round unanimous decision by scores of 115-113, 115-113, and 116-112.
Bernie: “Shoes are an average boxer”
“The shoes are a medium boxer for me. He does nothing. These are facts. “Show me something about his skill set,” Bernie Davis said. Ysm sports media About Jaron “Boots” Ennis. “Show me something cool from this world.”
The “average boxer” would not have been able to knock out Uisma Lima in the first round like “Boots” Ennis did last Saturday night. It takes top-level skills to do so against a breakout artist like Lima, who is better than fans think. We’ll see that over time as he starts fighting some of the top contenders.
“What does he do so skillfully? Crawford is a guy that can go up and hang with anyone you can see because of the way his skills are. He outshines all these different guys with his skills,” Bernie said.
The way Ennis has looked in his last two fights against Uisma Lima and Imantas Stanionis, he appears to be superior to Crawford in the skills department. During Terrence’s career, he has never looked as impressive as “Boots” in his last two fights.
Compare how Budd looked in his last two fights against Canelo Alvarez and Israel Madrimov to the performances Ennis turned in against Lima and Stanionis. It’s like night and day. Crawford has struggled in his fights with Madrimov and Canelo.
In the eyes of many fans, Madrimov beat Crawford. Israel fired strong, clean strikes in every round of the fight. Now, if Boots is the one who fights Madrimov, I can envision it being a similar fight to his bouts against Lima and Stanionis.
Crawford’s best career wins
- Saul Alvarez
- Errol Spence Jr
- Sean porter
- Israel Madrimov
- Need a table
- Amir Khan
- Jeff Horn
- Julius Indongo
- Victor Postol
- Euryorkis gamboa
These are easily Crawford’s best wins of his career. Among those names, seven of them were past the peak of their lives when Bud fought them. He didn’t fight an excellent version of these guys: Canelo, Gamboa, Porter, Indongo, Spence, Brook, or Khan. They were all at the end of their careers when Crawford fought them.
