Hundreds of thousands of Israelis celebrated the release of the remaining hostages

An estimated 400,000 Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv’s Hostage Square to celebrate the announcement by Trump administration officials of the release of the 20 hostages, who are believed to be alive. The ceasefire between Hamas and Israel is still holding, and 48 hostages – living and dead – are set to be exchanged for 250 Palestinians serving life sentences and 1,700 detainees since October 7, 2023.
