Harmanpreet Kaur abuses Harleen Deol after the chaos in the Women’s World Cup match against Australia

Indian women’s national cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was very angry after she was involved in a disastrous mix-up with star Harleen Deol on Sunday, October 12.

The 13th match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 between the Women’s National Cricket Team captained by Harmanpreet Kaur and the Australian Women’s National Cricket Team captained by Alyssa Healy is currently taking place at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

Batting first, India amassed a massive total of 330 runs in the innings before Australia bowled them out in 48.5 overs as Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal played stunning knocks during the opener.

During India’s innings, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was angry with star batsman Harleen Deol after an error when India was trying to take their innings to a massive score.

It all happened in the 35th inning, pitched by Megan Schott. On the fourth ball of the over, Harmanpreet Kaur missed a cut in the cover region and went for a single.

However, Harleen brought back her skipper when she was at mid-on, and Harmanpreet had to dive to reach the crease. This made Harmanpreet very angry, and she threw her mouth at her partner.

Then, on the fifth ball of the over, Harmanpreet smashed a four off Schutt and went on to hit Deol for a mix-up in the previous delivery. Things did not end there, as after hitting a four on the last ball, she tapped Harleen Deol on the shoulder in a calm manner after shouting at her earlier.

Earlier, Alyssa Healy won the toss and Australia decided to take the lead first in the match. Speaking during the draw, she said that they are excited to face a quality Indian team in front of the Vizag fans. She said:

“We’re going to play. It got muggy last night in training. Hopefully we can slip on the bat. Just one change. Molineux is back and Wareham is out. It’s good to have Sof back. At some stage during a World Cup, you just need to do what you have to do and get the win. But when you’re up against a really good opponent like India, you have to put it all together. Meanwhile, India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur ensured they will come back stronger when the odds are against them and termed the presence of large crowds as a big boost for the home team. She said:

“The pitch looks better than what we had in the last game. Same formation. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. It’s about how you bounce back. We’ve been there in the game for 95 times, a lot of positives for us. They’ve always been important to us. We’ve always been nice, rooting for the team day and night. The biggest part about our lives is that we have that support.”
