Arguing that some places in the United States — primarily those governed by Democratic officials — are rampantly infested with crime, President Donald Trump has been deploying military forces in cities from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C.

Corey Schake, a former National Security Council official, told host Steve Clemons that Trump is trying to enlist the US military to engage on culture war issues, such as immigration and political dissent.

She warned that US troops must be kept out of politics “so that the American people can continue to trust the military.”
