Left-arm pacer Kuldeep Yadav provided an early breakthrough for Team India on day three (Sunday, October 12) of the second and final Test against West Indies. Kuldeep cleaned up Shai Hope, who scored 36 runs, with a peach in the first session of the third day’s play at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The visiting team resumed day three at 140/4 with Shai Hope and Tevin Imlach at the crease. Hope and Imlach tried to build a partnership and help the team avoid being followed. However, Kuldeep took the first wicket of the day as the Roston Chase-led side lost half their side for 156 runs on the board.

On the third ball of the 50th over in West Indies’ first innings, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Shai Hope. Kuldeep bowled a ball outside off which drifted wide before straightening. Hope expected to move forward defensively but downplayed the importance of the foul line.

Hope completely missed the ball when it hit his off-stump. The right-handed batsman had to leave for the dressing room after scoring 36 off 57 balls, including five boundaries. Notably, this was his thirty-first consecutive Test innings without a fifty.
Kuldeep jumped and punched the air with joy after taking the wicket. The delivery received praise from the cricket community.

India maintained tight control in the second Test against West Indies, after a brilliant bowling effort from Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. Kuldeep dismissed Shai Hope, Alec Athanazi and Tevin Imlach, while Jadeja dismissed John Campbell, Tajinarine Chanderpaul and Ruston Chase.
At the time of writing, the visitors are struggling at 163/6 with Justin Greaves and Jhari Paire at the crease.
Earlier, India declared their innings at 518/5 after a dominant batting performance. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 175 runs off 258 balls, while skipper Shubman Gill remained unbeaten with 129. Sai Sudharsen added 87 runs, and Dhruv Gurel, Nitish Reddy and KL Rahul made useful contributions.
