Jaron “Boots” Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) makes his super welterweight debut tonight against Uisma “Monstro” Lima (14-1, 10 KOs) at the newly renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena. The shoes weighed almost a pound less, at 153.4 pounds, while Lima’s weight was 153 pounds.

The extra weight will benefit Ennis greatly. He will be stronger, and will look to make a statement by looking to prove that he is the one to beat in this division. Eddie Hearn has talked about a potential match against Virgil Ortiz in 2026, if both are successful in their upcoming matches.

Ortiz will face off against Eriksson Lubin next month, on November 8, in Dallas, Texas. Hearn said at yesterday’s weigh-in that Boots can beat basically all of the top level contenders at 154 – Sebastian Fundora, Bakhram Murtazaliev, Xander Zayas and Virgil Ortiz. However, to challenge them, he must first defeat Lima and do so convincingly.

Lima fought valiantly against Aaron McKenna, and fought in a short time, but suffered his first loss in that match. Uisma is a pressure fighter with good size, but he tends to slow down in the mid and late rounds. He will certainly be tested against Ennis, and if his conditioning is not up to par, he will not survive the match.

Boots is a great boxer, and attacking the body against Uisma will come in handy and allow him to deal as much damage as possible against a fighter with poor stamina. McKenna also showed off Lima’s agility. He doesn’t perform well against mobile boxers. A weakness that Jaron must be able to strategically expose.

Ennis said he’s not here to play games and wants to make quick work of Lima. He must be careful not to underestimate Monstro, because he has decent strength. Although he may not have the experience that Potts does, he has 16 professional fights under his belt. He has the ability to surprise several potential players at the right time. Ennis had several sparring partners to prepare for this bout, including Canelo Alvarez and Jack Catterall. He is very well prepared and ready for the match. The extra weight will give him more power, but he also faces stronger opponents at 154.

Karen Choukedjian was able to land several clean punches against Ennis in the second bout. If he gives Lima the same chance, he will expose himself to unnecessary damage against a decent player. That’s Potts’ biggest threat in the match: being underestimated

The opponent and allow him to deliver easy punches. Although he defeated both Chukhadzhian and Eimantas Stanionis, both were able to land more than 30 percent of their total punches. Defensively, Jaron has been slow, and he cannot afford to be complacent going forward, especially if he intends to challenge to compete at the top level in the future. If Potts performs up to expectations, he should deal with Lima quickly and finish it off with a knockout.
