Martin Zobiemendi on the terrible start

Arsenal midfielder Martin Zobimendi He has spoken publicly about the “horrible” initiation ritual he had to go through when he first joined the Gunners.

The Spain international is a very shy character and was apparently not keen on singing for his new team-mates upon his arrival in north London.

It’s completely normal for players to do this when they join new clubs, but Zobimendi described it as the worst thing in football in his interview with The Sun. Guardian.

Zobimendi sang Manuel Turizo’s La Bachata, and found it quite good to settle in at Arsenal after having to pass such a difficult hurdle!

“The worst thing in football,” he said. “I had to sing: I did Manuel Turizo’s La Bachata. Terrible, terrible.”

Even if Zobimendi isn’t much of a singer, he hits the right notes with his performances on the pitch for Arsenal.

The 26-year-old has settled in wonderfully at the Emirates Stadium, instantly becoming a hugely important player for his new club.

Adapting to a new club and country must be difficult, but apart from the difficult start, Zobimendi appears to have taken it all in his stride.

And elsewhere in the interview Zobimendi also offered some thoughts On how he chose Arsenal despite Liverpool also trying to sign him the previous year, as reported by The Guardian times.

It now clearly appears that the former Real Sociedad player would have been an excellent signing for Liverpool as well, so Arsenal fans will be happy that their club ended up winning this particular race.

It now looks like Zobimendi will be one of a number of new players joining the AFC ready to take Mikel Arteta’s side a step closer to winning major silverware.
