Patrick Mahomes is tired of being an unlucky loser. Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have gone from being masters of one-score wins to a team that just can’t get the job done.

It’s a remarkable change in fortunes after Andy Reid’s side won a record 11 games by one score last season.
“It obviously sucks,” Mahomes said. After losing 31-28. “I let the game get away from us. It still sucks when you get a lead and you can’t hold it.
“We have the players and we have taken some points in games and looked really good, but we are crushing ourselves with penalties and fouls.
“We’ve done it to ourselves all season. It’s been one player here or there. In this league, things are so close that those (moments) change the course of games.
“We have to be better. We have lost a lot of games already.”
They won’t find it easy to get back on track against a Lions team that boasts a 4-1 record.
They also won on their last visit to Arrowhead, 21-20 in their season opener in 2023, a win that coach Dan Campbell felt was a pivotal moment in his team’s development.
“That was big. It felt like that kind of started our season off. The guys really thought we could go out there and win and they played their tails off,” Campbell said.
