According to Richardson, Doherty often criticized her body and pushed her to undergo plastic surgery. “He wanted me to have a boob job so bad,” she said. “He would say to me, ‘I won’t have to look at other girls on the explore page if you have big boobs.'”

She explained that those comments destroyed her self-confidence. “I thought I was the ugliest thing that ever walked the Earth,” she said. “I compared myself to every girl around him, to every girl on the internet.”

Richardson says Doherty not only devalued her self-worth, but also isolated her from friends and family, controlling who she spoke to and when. “I couldn’t trust anyone,” she said. “Everyone around me was paying him money, and I knew anything I said would come back to him.”
