North Korean leader Kim Jong Un Jong Yoo North Korea displayed a new long-range intercontinental ballistic missile during a military parade in Pyongyang attended by foreign leaders on Friday.
The state-owned Korean Central News Agency described the Hwasong-20 missile, which has not yet been tested, as having the “most powerful strategic nuclear weapons system.”
The government also displayed short-range ballistic, cruise and hypersonic missiles at the military parade, which was held to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Labor Party.

Kim said during the military parade that the army “must continue to develop into an invincible force that eliminates all threats.”
Among the foreign dignitaries at the parade were Chinese Premier Li Qiang, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, and Vietnamese Communist Party Chairman Tu Lam.
Kim also met with Medvedev on Friday, who praised the sacrifices of North Korean soldiers fighting alongside Russia in Ukraine.

Kim said he hopes to strengthen relations with Russia and work together to achieve common goals.
Last summer, Kim’s sister Kim Yoo Jung The United States warned Not trying to resume talks centered on denuclearization, adding that Pyongyang would consider any attempt to pressure North Korea to denuclearize “nothing but a mockery.”

“If the United States fails to accept the changing reality and persists in the failed past, the meeting between the DPRK and the United States will remain a ‘hope’ for the US side,” Kim Yo Jong said, referring to the country by its official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
